LTW’s partner alpha 2000 GmbH from Germany uses LTW’s waterproof connectors within their outdoor computers SeisComP which is part of the German Indonesian Tsunami Early Warning System (GITEWS). The SeisComP is made for the use under rough environmental conditions. It collects seismic data and provides it to the headquarters in Jakarta. The area around South-East Asia is seismically one of the most active worldwide. To protect the people living there and avoid another disaster like the one triggered by the tsunami in 2004, the German Indonesian Tsunami Early Warning System has been released recently. As one part within the system, small outdoor computers called SeisComP developed by our German partner alpha 2000 GmbH, are used to sign up every seismic movement on Indonesian mainland. Therefore the machines are placed in caves or tunnels. To protect SeisComP’s functionality from spray and dust, LTW connectors are used. LTW connectors are not only waterproof but also weather resistant so it can be assured that SeisComP and GITEWS work free from drop outs because of incoming water, mud or similar things. Moreover, LTW’s weatherproof and waterproof connectors not only protect SeisComP from breaking down but also protect the population of South-East Asia from the dangers of tsunamis. Lately this system warned the people in Indonesia end of September this year. .jpg) | .jpg) | | PrioComP is the more industrial version of SeisComP, but the design is the same and both are made to use under rough conditions. |
